Critical Appraisal Workshop
- an introduction to one of the key tools of evidence- based practice - critical appraisal.  The workshop will draw on the research evidence of rehabilitation professions of OT, PT and SLP.  Participants will learn to critically evaluate clinical research focused on therapeutic interventions. Participants will apply advanced information retrieval strategies to rehabilitation science literature which can facilitate the transfer and implementation of research in clinical practice.  August 28 Calgary. more

2010-2011 Medical Acupuncture Program - University of Alberta - 200 credit hours of intensive graduate-level instruction in Traditional Chinese Medicine theory and clinical practices as it relates to medical acupuncture and modern biomedicine - Part-time, completed in nine months, it is presented in four modules, each worth 50 credit hours.  Each module consists of two 3-day weekend sessions, (Friday through Sunday) held approximately one month apart. Pain Science and Recovery seminar - designed for health professionals to aid with understanding the complexities of persistent pain and development of practical clinical techniques.  Includes clinically relevant case studies, basic interventions for chronic pain, learning and teaching self-management techniques and process for providing effective education within current practice setting.  seminar - designed for health care professionals, emphasizes group interactions, problem solving and the practical application of assessment and self-management techniques.
