documents to support IEOT application
  1. Application form - completed, signed and dated.
  2. Official transcripts - original transcripts must be submitted to the College from the issuing educational institution.
  3. Course description/program syllabus – course-by-course descriptions to facilitate the evaluation of academic qualifications.
  4. ‘Statement of candidacy’ or national examination results - verification from CAOT of eligibility to write the national certification exam on the next available date (the exam is offered twice per year); or submission of results from the successful completion of the national certification exam.
  5. Regulatory history – A reference, or regulatory history, is required from each jurisdiction in which the applicant has held license to practice occupational therapy. A regulatory history form must be completed and sent by the regulatory body directly to the College. If the applicant worked in a jurisdiction with no regulatory body or is a new graduate, the applicant must provide a minimum of two letters of reference attesting to their good character and reputation.
  6. Language fluency – Applicants who have obtained their occupational therapy education in a language of instruction other than English may be requested to provide documentation of English language fluency. Passing the CAOT National Examination may also demonstrate English language fluency.
  7. New employment details – Applicants who begin the application process prior to finding employment in Alberta must submit employer information to the College as soon as available.

We require all documents be presented to the College in English.
